And food freedom is filled with ✨memories✨
It’s really true. This far along, recovery isn’t something that’s actively on my mind all the time. But every now and then I’ll catch myself at a restaurant or eating a food I used to fear or even just simply cooking & jamming in the kitchen and I’ll notice how peaceful it feels.
Eating, *period*, but certainly specific foods I had demonised made meal times chaotic pre-recovery. I’d literally fear it and it makes me so sad to think of how much I missed out on during that time.
That said, I try hard to not dwell too much on the past and take these little nuggets of freedom and cherish them because not too long ago things felt very very different.
A reminder that if you’re struggling with you relationship with food, there is space for you to heal. It’s not an easy journey and there will likely be lots of bumps along the way, *but*, recovery is possible. And with grace, you deserve that.
