The Office of the Director of National Intelligence has released a report stating that more than 350 “unidentified aerial phenomenon” sightings have been disclosed to the U.S. government, half of which are unexplained. About half of the reported sightings of UAPs, or UFOs, have since been characterized as “balloon or balloon-entities” while some of the other reports have been identified as drones, birds, plastic bags, and more. However, about 171 UFO reports have yet to be explained. Additionally, the report stated that “some of these uncharacterized UAP appear to have demonstrated unusual flight characteristics or performance capabilities and require further analysis.” No evidence of extraterrestrial life or extreme technological advancements by foreign countries has been found, but has not been ruled out. Officials have explained that the increase in UAP sightings in recent years is most likely due to a reduced stigma surrounding UFOs and a better understanding of the possible threats that unidentifiable flying aircrafts pose to pilots, military personnel, etc. Have you spotted a UFO recently? #UFO
