We are blessed to have experienced some truly awe inspiring corners of the earth and those adventures are, by far, the greatest gifts we’ve given ourselves. Despite how different the destinations have been, they all share one thing in common - nature made us feel small and overwhelmed by her beauty which is as it should be. We’ve learned through these journeys that nature teaches us nearly everything we need to know about being good and kind yet, as humans, we can’t seem to stop taking more than we need, treading without care for where we’ve been or pausing to give thanks for all the planet provides. Most of us are contributing to a future we would prefer to pretend is not coming yet we each have the opportunity to right the course and participate, however we can, in rewriting the narrative. Let’s stop acting like visitors of this planet and more like its stewards. Every day is Earth Day! PS huge shoutout to my mother @athina1949 for always leading by example on these issues.
