#AcrosstheNOAAverse We’re celebrating #NationalAviationDay by shining the spotlight on NOAA’s Aircraft Operations Center (AOC). NOAA’s fleet of 10 crewed aircraft is operated, managed and maintained by the AOC, which is part of NOAA's Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO). This fleet of highly specialized aircraft is used to study the ocean, coasts and atmosphere. The environmental data these aircraft collect are vital to understanding the Earth, conserving and managing coastal and marine resources and protecting lives and property. Located at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, Florida, AOC serves as the main base for OMAO’s aircraft fleet and provides capable, mission-ready aircraft and professional crews to the scientific community.
