And the result? Prime Mover! This is Jennifer Salke, the head of Amazon Studios and the current cover subject of Variety. We photographed Salke at the historic Culver Studios which Amazon Studios took over earlier this year. Amazon just released “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” the most expensive television series ever produced...and...it was a raging success. Amazon had committed to 5 seasons of “Rings” just three months before Salke arrived at the studio. To quote the article’s writer and Variety co-editor-in-chief, Cynthia Littleton, “It was a mission that tapped all the skills Salke’s honed over the years as a top creative.” The shoot was absolutely fantastic because we had great access to the historic buildings on the Culver Studios Campus AND because Salke was such a great subject. Six set ups in an hour and 15 minutes, all using one light and bleeding in available light...indoors and out.
