#Thankful Today I want to acknowledge all the wonderful people at Atypical (my first SAG speaking role in 2018), from the amazing writer-creator Robia Rashid to Telsey Casting, as well as all the wonderful actors like Dom and Tal and Naomi and Rachel who I’m so lucky to have in my life. But there are two people in particular who mean the world to me that I want to thank today. Ryan Casey @film114 and Mary Rolich @maryrohlich Ryan directed the episode of Atypical I was on. She is brilliant and funny and she give me my first SAG speaking role. She is such a huge role model, with a prolific resume in directing and editing and she’s won an Emmy! Ryan is also a kickass mom and wife and has another adorable baby on the way while continuing to direct the most amazing content. What I love most about her is her generosity and kindness. She’s a big director and we only got to work together for one day, but she has always treated me with respect and taken the time to give me the most amazing advice. I can’t wait until the next time we get to work together and I’m so glad she was my first director! Thank you Ryan for reminding me that everyone gets scared and no one is expecting perfection. Mary produced Atypical and from the moment we met, she made me feel like I mattered and showed me how kind producers can be. Producers are involved in every step of the production process and I don’t know how Mary does it. She also has her own production company and an adorable family and watching her career blossom has been such a delight. I’m so thankful for all she has done for disabled talent and I can’t wait for all of her future projects.
