She’s on road this summer ☀️ Carnival is more than a sport, it’s a community!! . . Yup, the little girl on the front cover of the newspaper and magazine is me. Growing up in a multicultural family one thing that I can say my parents instilled in both my brother and myself was playing Mas. The Mas camp was always a fun place because it was nice to surround yourself with creative people from different cultural backgrounds that appreciated making beautiful costumes. However; what I enjoyed the most was the community that masqueraders share with each other. It literally takes a village to help bring these costumes to life. Mas men and women are the real MVP’s and if you haven’t experienced being in a Mas camp, I highly recommend you should check it out to learn more about carnival. Even though over years I stopped playing for numerous reasons, I’m on on “di road” this year. . .
