“More than half of the world’s refugees are immigrants and children under the age of 18 and all of those people seeking a home, a place to belong, a place to live.” ~ @yazmany speaking about the reasons that he became creative producer on the New York leg of @walkwithamal ‘s journey. It was an honor to be invited to welcome Amal into the city. On this particular night, Amal and the Sibylant Sisters (pictured here as human scale stop motion puppets carried by puppeteers on piggyback) met to perform a magic spell. Their encounter drew forth characters from the realm of the Sibylants: The Wee Witch Katarina, Paper Jeannie and The Ogre Minkie, who assisted in their conjuring. The Sibylant Sisters come from a home that is crumbling, and Little Amal is wandering in search of a home, but for one dizzying late night moment at magical carousel, they conjured a light that would help lead them toward what they seek.
