🦇🐝🍦Late nights at Ingres’ studio, in between working and packing. These are our last weeks at @villa_medici , it has been a great year, a big learning experience. Living and working in this place it’s a special, beautiful and also challenging thing... Villa Medici is a museum, an art center, a research place, a bit of an embassy, also a small town, a community, a place to share and exchange or a place to completely isolate. A country side kind of island in the middle of the historical center of Rome... then there’s Rome, very alive and strange, institutional, bureaucratic, religious, touristic but also popular and alternative... with this mix of antique, renaissance, fascist modernism and suburban vive... full of nature pushing from every corner and crack, full of ants that emerge here and there and that for sure support the all city with their infinite labyrinths. We are three weeks away from leaving and I still have so much to do... squeezing everyday and night under the unstoppable heat, getting used to share studio time with bats, and giant bees. Getting ready for some last projects that of course got pushed by the end of the end. Enjoying the friends made here, the views and the good gelatos. I’m glad of my time here, also happy of going back home... but wait, it’s not finished yet, there’s always a last last moment, a last last day and a last last night... 🦇 🐝 🍦
