ᴅʀᴏᴘꜱ ꜱᴘᴏᴛʟɪɢʜᴛ: ᴘʟᴀꜱᴛɪᴄꜱ Conceptual artist @jimmyedgar is interested in materiality in the digital realm. How do physical objects exist digitally? Can items in commercial and stock photography be art? Seeking to explore these questions, the artist created PLASTICS, a series of generative photographs. Each piece is pulled from stock photographs cut into pieces, compositionally arranged with code, and drawn on top of. In this process, Jimmy becomes the art director, and views the computer as creating and thinking for itself. Foundation has been Jimmy’s web3 home since March 2021.
