#ThankfulThursday Today I wanted to acknowledge my favorite acting coach, Crystal Carson @auditioning_by_heart I’ve been studying acting since elementary school and I’ve had the pleasure of working with a lot of different coaches and teachers along the way. At a certain point, I had put so much work into acting that I was at a professional level I was really proud of. It was a struggle to find an instructor who could help me continue to grow past that point. In other words, if you’ve put years into mastering different techniques as an actor, that’s the bare minimum. But when the majority of working actors have done that too, how do you become competitive? Then I met Crystal. What I love about Crystal is not only does she encourage you to let your uniqueness impact your character choices, but she takes away so much of my anxiety in the audition process. She taught me it was okay to be me. And she always gives me insights that I could never have come up with on my own. Now, whether I work on material with or without Crystal, I always incorporate what she has taught me so far. I’m thankful for all of my teachers thus far too. I’m proud to continue growing and showing off their lessons.
