In honor of this year’s Julia Child Award recipient, Grace Young, the Foundation is proud to award a $10,000 grant to San Francisco’s Chinatown Community Development Center, along with four other non-profit organizations working to support Chinatown and AAPI communities across the country. The Chinatown Community Development Center has served San Francisco’s Chinatown since 1977 and started a feed and fuel program for Chinatown restaurants to serve those in need during the pandemic. They are using their funds to partner with Far East Café, which is the oldest restaurant in Chinatown and the last banquet restaurant. While they continue to struggle from the pandemic and its aftermath, Far East Café recently celebrated its 100th anniversary.
