Who Tells Your Story? ⭐️ Storytelling & Performance Workshop This month we are teaming up with the Immigration Museum in Melbourne and inviting aspiring writers, rappers, poets and spoken word artists to participate in an exclusive writing and performance workshop, hosted by poet and producer @joelistics and joined by special guests Lyndon Watts, Julian Kuo and Emmy Saheki from the Hamilton Australia cast. Built around the theme of ‘Who tells your story?’, the workshop guides participants through the creative development process of telling their personal stories of migration, diaspora, belonging, identity, and community, unlocking new writing, performance and storytelling techniques. Emerging and established writers and creators with a lived experience of the workshop’s core themes are encouraged to apply to participate and tell their story. Times: Fri, 28 October 2022 10:00am – 11:30am & 1:00pm – 2:30pm Tickets: $50 (access given to runner-up successful story submissions), workshop limited to 20 participants How to apply ⬇️ Write a short piece about your lived experience of migration, diaspora, belonging, identity or community. This could be your personal story or the story of a family member. There are no rules on what form the piece takes. This is about sharing your story. Film yourself speaking your piece and post your video to Instagram. Make sure you tag @hamiltonaustralia and @immigrationmuseum_melb and use the hashtag #whotellsyourstory to be considered. 90 seconds max for your video 10 lucky entrants will win free tickets to the workshop at Immigration Museum plus 2 tickets to see HAMILTON at Her Majesty’s Theatre in Melbourne.
