Even though I long for cool, crisp nights that allow me the comfort of old woolen sweaters and coffee by the fire, it's sometimes hard for me to release my grasp on summer. For I know once the Cailleach brings down her staff, darkness will encroach, and I will be pulled into the shadows where I am faced to take a hard look at myself- Do I like what I see? The dark Goddess will howl, and the sky will turn to charcoal, and I know the sun will once again be a fleeting object talked about in past tense, as if it were a long-lost friend. Do I have a sturdy enough constitution to face another winter? But even as I ponder the upcoming winter and all that it brings, there is something about the slanted light that bewitches me. September coaxes us to slowly surrender to the stillness to come. But for now there is still so much work to be done. Prepping a garden for winter is a job 🖤🌜 #witchsgarden
