[COMMUNAL_2022] CR006: Communal is a multifaceted, internationally spanning project bringing together 10 of the world's most exciting, independent record labels and DJs. Officially fusing a multitude of entities together on a single project to embrace and uplift one and other in a world seemingly more fractured than ever. Initially derived from the concept of ‘bootlegging’ the key focus of the project was to explore how different labels could co-exist and compliment each other through their visual identities and musical outputs. Bootleg culture allows for unexpected and exciting results to be birthed due to its subversive, illicit nature.
