I couldn’t help noticing that the elders in our family have been collectively going through a bout of depression lately.... so this year my cousins and I are gathering at my moms house to do a proper family Christmas for the first time in over a decade. My job was to bankroll the event, buy new furniture, make the playlist and create general “good ambiance” Another cousin is in charge of beverages and transportation and then there’s my bougie cuzzo, (the resident foodie) who has been cooking 👏🏾 her 👏🏾 ass 👏🏾 off 👏🏾 all day. We don’t eat dinner for another half hour but when I tell you I haven’t seen my mom and stepdad smile THIS hard in ages! 🥹 If there’s one thing this year has underscored is you really don’t know how long you have with your loved ones and so it’s best to make the absolute most of EVERY moment.
