In honor of the release of “Halloween Kills” I give you Part 2 of a 3-part TBT to an Entertainment Weekly cover shoot from 2018...just four years and one pandemic ago. This is the set piece for the double-page-spread-opener of the “Halloween” cover story. Sure it’s a bit of a fixer upper and it’s got lousy curb appeal, but it’s got a ton of character and when it’s bathed in manufactured moon light, it totally does the trick. Or treat. So...here we go. There’s an extra small gridded box lighting Jamie Lee Curtis. There’s a medium gridded strip lighting the kids. There’s a gelled, gridded beauty dish inside the set giving JLC a warm hair light. There are two umbrellas behind the backdrop (from @jcbackings). There’s a gelled head lighting up the porch. There’s a gelled, gridded strip lighting the shrubbery at the back of the porch and there’s a gelled, gridded strip lighting the shrubbery next to the railing. And those last two heads refused to fire. In fact, they only fired once. Please keep in mind that this set (and three other set ups) were built, lit, shot and torn down, all in one spectacularly wild and crazy day. It takes a village to build and light a house and costume a bunch of kids and do hair makeup and wardrobe on a Hollywood legend...so...we’ll let the credits roll...JLC wig by @robpickens.
