Your feed may be back to normal, but my life will never be normal. This is my reality. While these past few months have exposed the racism that is woven into the fabric of our nation, I want you all to think about how this has affected my people and I since the day we were born. I will no longer be silent. And your silence is compliance. If you’ve been unfollowed, it is very much personal. If I no longer feel as if you don’t care about my life as a black woman, then you have been removed from my life. To those who have shown their unconditional love and support towards me, you are appreciated more than you know. Thank you for getting me through. And to those who have not supported me or who have stayed silent, considering I’m on a path to becoming a badass black civil rights and social justice attorney, perhaps I will remain silent when it’s time to protect YOUR civil rights.
