So you want to get better at mermaid swimming or start? So did she (this was her very first mermaid swim) There are lots of different ways one could achieve this. I’m going to focus on what’s worked for me: To become a strong swimmer, you need to become one with the water and feel in your element. Building muscle and resilience is key - and it does come with training and practice. I like to use the Foil Monofin in my training. Made from silicone, it’s flexible and bendy. The large surface area works core and leg muscles more than standard fins and the open heel increases range of motion. In fact Michael Phelps uses it to practice his butterfly kick. :) I also love how I can just roll it up, so it fits nicely in my bag. This makes it perfect for on the go, so I still use it for my show. If you want to find out more, you can check it out on my online store: qvea.com.
