I am doing a Fast (only water, coffee and tea) with friends and family. Running and fasting is tough, perhaps inadvisable, but I was determined not to break my streak (358 days and counting). So I went out to do the bare minimum to keep my streak going. And that even seemed like a brutal challenge. And then, as I chugged by a stranger, a neighbor, I uttered a “God Bless You.” Was it a greeting or a prayer for the reciprocal... cause I needed a prayer, some divine intervention if I was going to make it through the run. To my surprise, this stranger answered. He began running with me. His energy, his determination to run, share and encourage, his spirit, boosted me far further than I expected to go - more than 4X further. My friends: Hold on. Don’t give up. Face your challenges. There may be people there (heaven sent?) to help. And you may discover strength you never imagined you had. Run on friends!
