“2022 is a year of enrichment and innovation for me. This is the 10th year since my debut, and I perceive my own transformation in multiple dimensions.” A month before a new year begins, Lay Zhang leaves us with an inspiring message of personal growth, development and acceptance, in light of his decade long career as one of China’s most promising songwriters and recording artists.
Transformation is certainly an operative word, as how else can someone retain such prominence over a decade without continually transforming to an extent? During a year in which he began his GRANDLINE II Infinite Lands: The Unreached Realm tour, and released his latest EP, West, his transformation is ever-evolving: “Compared to the dream of becoming a very bright person when I was a child, my dream has indeed changed. I hope to be the person who can leave something behind in this life and have meaning,” Zhang tells Glass Man, an ideal we certainly would not falter.
The winter issue of Glass Man is out now .
