ENDS SUNDAY 🗓️ The theme of the October Square Print Sale presented an opportunity for some photographers and estates to share something closer to home. Trent Parke (@chillioctopus) put forth an image from his family album series, 'The Christmas Tree Bucket', while @william.keo chose a picture from a project on his hometown, Aulnay:⁠ ⁠ “My hometown is a place I love as much as I hate. I’ve never taken the time to look at where I live as a potential breeding ground for stories. Photographing daily life is difficult because it’s what we see every day. ⁠ ⁠ “Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been documenting my hometown, which is only portrayed by its violence and poverty, or by a romanticized vision of the French ghetto by mainstream media. I try to document all the social and cultural aspects of my hometown, and soccer is a religion, so to speak. This picture was taken in the summer of 2022; it represents a certain present.
