This c. 1905 blown-glass-hanging globe, 13 1/8 inches high, was one of twenty that hung between columns in the three-story reception hall of Louis Comfort Tiffany's Long Island estate, Laurelton Hall. The reception hall, also called the fountain court or central court, recalled the Moorish courts at the Alhambra in Granada, Spain. Tiffany called it "the soul of the house."
