Another TBT...and on a Monday, no less. This is the third “throw back” to a shoot for Entertainment Weekly from four years ago, a Monday in September when we built, pre lit, shot and tore down four set pieces all in one day. This was a day on which Jamie Lee Curtis’ dedication to being a fantastic presence in front of the camera intersected with Michele Romero’s creative and illustrative intuition. One of the MULTITUDE of ideas we executed that afternoon was an homage to the Irving Penn photograph of Willem deKooning and his pal, Frederick Kiestler. Michele said, “We should do that with Jamie and Michael Myers.” We showed our idea to Jamie Lee Curtis and she said, “This is fantastic. Let’s do it.” Lucky for us, Jamie said the same thing when she saw ALL of our ideas. On the “grey" set, the main is an @elinchrom_ltd Octobank and the fill is a large @chimeralighting soft box right underneath it. The backdrop is from @schmidlibackdrops. On the “white” set, the main is a large @chimeralighting strip and an @elinchrom_ltd Octobank, unbaffled, right underneath it. The crew on that beautiful fall day featured @belioff and @jeremyjacksonphoto putting up and tearing down the lights as @kristineilson oversaw their progress and played with sharp objects. @pollycpics attempted to make sure that all of my gear got into the right bags. @luvlouella filled out time cards for kids wearing Michael Meyer masks while @evanmullingphoto tried on the masks. @evlasic pushed his cart back and forth over the length of the studio multiple times, chasing me from one set piece to the other. @photobuffalo and his merry band of pranksters brought the table, the knife and the ball of yarn.
