Follow me on a trip to Oxnard, CA @visitoxnardca where I had a chance to explore @venturacountycoast and create a cocktail inspired by Oxnard and its history! I teamed up with my friends at @thebestdrinkever and we set off to explore! Our first stop was the McGrath Ranch Strawberry Fields where I had a chance to learn about Oxnard’s rich agriculture and their perfect climate for growing strawberries all year round. Oxnard also hosts an annual Strawberry Festival where you can sample all things strawberry! Our second stop was Oxnard State Beach where we met with Adolfo Murillo @drtequila.soy owner of @alquimiatequila and his daughter Eliana Murillo @inmyeliment It was an immediate bond, I think we could have walked the entire beach talking and laughing about how much we love Tequila, Mexico and Latino Culture. It was an honor to learn about their family history and their roots in how the brand was born. The last stop was @heritagesquareoxnard where I had a chance to visit @1901speakeasy This space is absolutely gorgeous and the square consists of original homes built between 1876 - 1912. The team at @1901speakeasy let me jump behind the bar and create my cocktail I’m calling Oxnard Fresa Fizz. Each element of the cocktail represents a piece of Oxnards rich history. The strawberry and sugar beets represent its agriculture. Tequila Alquimia and their family history in the city. I used key limes representative of Oxnard’s rich Mexican/Latin community. Finally, I used @amaroangeleno coming straight out of Ventura County highlighting delicious Valencia oranges. Thank you to everyone that hosted us.
