This 1940s hairstyle only required one tool: bobby pins. 🤎 It’s also is a beginner-friendly style, great for days you want a vintage look but don’t have a lot of time to devote to styling your hair.
Here’s how:
-Start by curling your hair (doesn’t have to be perfect).
-Create a middle or side part, either works.
-Divide a front section of hair from your part down to your ear. Twist toward the back of your head and pin into place. Repeat on the other side.
-For the back, divide your hair into 4-5 sections (maybe more, depending on how thick your hair is).
-Working with a section near your face first, begin rolling the section (as you would to create a pin curl) up toward your head. Use bobby pins to secure, 2-3 on each side/opening of the rolled section.
-Repeat with the next section of hair, rolling it up until it meets the first section, and pin into place, using pins on both sides of the roll.
-Repeat until all sections of hair have been rolled and pinned. Finesse the rolls until they look how you like. Finish with a strong hold hairspray.
Additional tips:
-You can add a hair net to help keep everything secure.
-If your hair is thinner, you can roll your hair around a hair rat/bun form to create a more voluminous look.
🤎 The great thing about this style is it can be as smooth as you like. You can make this look like one smooth continuous roll or more imperfect and loose like I did.
