2021. Past days I was reflecting on traditional «what did I do this year?» list which I love to share with my friends and to read same from them. The process wasn’t that pleasant, because at first sight 2021 was a tough one: 6 months under curfew in deadly silent Paris without possibility to buy food or toilet paper after 6pm and with creeps on the streets at night time; exhausting working hours where countless demands and deadlines were mixed with attempts to understand the workflow, all this in a language that is far away from my native one; stolen wallet with all cards and my visa just a night before the summer holidays, many cancelled flights and plans, missed grandma’s 80th birthday, missed cousin’s wedding and so on. Bref, looks like not a fun year. And then, while making this video, I realised that 2021 was actually full of joy and fun. We danced so much! In the living rooms, on the embankments, next to the Opera, at Place Colette and at place Vendome, on the boats. We danced on so many bad surfaces and in all types of shoes that now dancing on a proper floor looks like a luxury. We did picnics and house parties with unknown people in unknown areas of Paris. We traveled with PCRs and masks, but still we did. We even finally graduated from IFM. I thought nothing big happened this year and still I got so many new memories, met new people, experienced new feelings. Busy working days, talks with friends, nights of tango, Chinese morning sessions (though my Chinese still sucks), spinning on the pole covered with bruises, beautiful trip in south of France, Faverolles, short but precious visit home, taste of mom’s bortsch, tiny fingers of my friend’s newborn baby, many smiles, many words, many hugs and many kisses. Actually, so many things happened this year! What all these letters are about? About the simple thought I got: it’s all about the angle. The angle of looking on things and also about the wish to see the good next to the bad. We all passing more or less hard times, but, please, don’t forget to notice and enhance the good ones.
