Still relishing in the beauty + soulful expression of Friday night — @omsom threw an eXXXtra saucy rave to celebrate our new product line drop + it was one of the proudest moments for me in the 3 years that Omsom has been out in the world. ⁣ ⁣ Pleasure is a tricky thing in Asian American culture — whether it’s through fetishization of Asians in the West or pleasure being seen as taboo in our own communities. So as @kimoftheinternet so powerfully asked, what would it look like for an Asian American brand to own our pleasure on our own terms? This eXXXtra rave was a loud + proud expression of exactly that. ⁣ ⁣ The night was truly unforgettable — drag, shibari suspension, pole dancers, aerialists, real tattoos, nail piercings, massages, noodle topping bar, goodie bags that literally included the morning after pill lol⁣ ⁣ From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU to the 300 magical humans that came as their most eXXXtra selves, danced the night away, and centered Asian American joy + pleasure in the most over the top way with us 🥹✨
