For all those those new to my feed, allow me to introduce you to my friend Mistie. And her husband Todd. We met right here, on Instagram, almost two years ago. I was in my darkest period, and so it turns out, was Mistie. We were both dealing with pain- but hers was physical as well. She has stage four cancer. ( Colon; she now has a colostomy bag which she dresses to accessorize her outfits.) We met in person last year in November, when her husband Todd brought her to NYC for a weekend. In person, I found that despite of what she’s going through- chemo every two weeks for life- her empathy, gratitude and optimism and sense of humor have no bounds. She is the most positive and brightest light I’ve ever had the good fortune to meet. Her husband Todd works two jobs so they can have medical insurance If Mistie is the bright light of love, Todd is the lighthouse that cradles her, holding her high and safe so she can keep shining.
