Introducing “LUCIA” a new RGB LED control circuit board designed in collaboration with @carrier_freq -For many years I have been using this same circuit design to program and control my LED sculptures and installations, but each time I would have to build a new circuit, adding time and possible errors. I’ve been using the RGB 5050 LED strips for about 12 years for my art and this board development was long overdue. My friend @carrier_freq suggested we make it and I couldn’t be happier to see the results. The 16-channel board modulates the full color spectrum of the LEDs, adding millions of possible combinations of the primary colors. The board is platform agnostic, meaning that it’s compatible with all microcontrollers/Raspberry PI, and can light up 5050 LED strips of any voltages (tested up to 24V). The name of the board is the same as my wife’s first name as a tribute to her inspiration, but also because the name “Lucia” means “light of the day.” Next week will be my release to the public with students at @art.sjsu at the @cadre.so meeting next Wednesday, Nov 6!
