If you thought self-care was about getting fancy spa massages 💆🏻♀️, then you are missing SO many of the most meaningful (and free) self-loving rituals you could be practicing on the daily. 🙂 Our amazing friends at @BrentwoodHome (ad) remind us of the importance of taking a few minutes to do something for us. This is a total must if you’re struggling with mental health, anxiety or just being present on your day-to-day.
Put that to-do list aside for 20 minutes and go do some of these #selfcare activities:
◻️ Prepare a healthy and delicious smoothie. 🧊🍓 Bonus points if you enjoy it in silence without any screens around.
◻️ Clean your space 🧹 to make your home your sanctuary.
◻️ Visit rescued animals 🐷🐥 (you can find a list of Farm Animal Sanctuaries near you here: worldofvegan.com/farm-animal-sanctuaries
◻️ Walk barefoot 👣🌲 in nature—there’s something about putting your feet on the earth that is so healing!
◻️ Quiet your mind 🧠💭 with some easy stretches, basic yoga poses, or deep breathing (I love bringing my @BrentwoodHome yoga mat and meditation pillows outside for this).
◻️ Pick fresh food 🥦🍅 (if you don’t grow your own, visit a farm, a friend’s backyard!)
◻️ Grow food 🪴 and watch life transform from a tiny seed with a little TLC
◻️ Make a comforting snack 🥒🍿 (like popcorn or hummus and cucumbers)
◻️ Pair it with a fancy drink 🍹(even just adding a chunk of frozen dragonfruit to sparkling water will transform it to a beautiful pink)
◻️ Say “Hi!” 👋 to animals you meet; it’s such a simple way to feel more connected and happy.
◻️ Go for a walk (or run 🏃🏼♀️) outside and stop to smell the flowers. 🌸
