"I’ve lived in New England most of my life but Vermont winters can still be surprisingly brutal. I find the best way to avoid seasonal depression is to get outside as much as possible and embrace the cold. While most of these adventures bring me up into the Green Mountains, Lake Champlain’s ice-glazed coasts are home to a variety of winter activities. The lake shore along Burlington's waterfront has a few highly trafficked ice holes, including this one in a cove by my house.
