ANCHOR LAB, Deptford High St, London. 2021. Executing the interior design of this space from start to finish has been a dream! Honoured, humbled, inspired. From the bottom of my heart, thank you @aof_approved @zino_aof & Pops for welcoming me into the family with open arms & giving me complete creative freedom to bring this to life. The bond built through this rollercoaster is unmatched. You man are Titans. Memories of fold out chairs, hostile, cramped, uncomfortable long waits that takes up to much time, with no opportunity to be productive plagued my thoughts of a barbershop space. So embarking on this project, with the past attachments in mind, I felt obliged to create a warm enticing space, that customers felt at home in, offered a peaceful yet stimulating experience that seamlessly allowed you to get trimmed, relax & get some work done all in the same vicinity. A demand for opulence and refined quality combined with passion is what it took to bring this to fruition. The Scandinavian minimalism X brutalist approach on the aesthetic mirrored the entrepreneurial brothers once rugged now polished journey capsulising where they’re at today. Creating this innovative, replenishing comfortable barbershop from scratch presented many obstacles, non that matched the faith, imagination & hard work that got poured into every detail from building the staff room & kitchen out of thin air to every spec of the fitting being done by Pops & the brothers heart & hands. Atelier context; Installation of concrete finished walls::Bespoke stone coffee table. Bespoke stone reception. 4 seater floating glacier barber-station. Singular interactive floating glacier barber-station fit with mic & camera. In-house spa facility. Hand sculpted in-wall towel installation.
