I equally know this year is going to be hard for many so please, if your funds are tight this year, You CAN skip a collection. Make magic in the memories, every year that table can shrink, We lose parents, Grandparents, guardians, friends and partners but those memories last a lifetime. Take some pressure off your shoulders and remember not everything is as it seems on social media. Put the phone down, live laugh and love! Someone is waking up to a brand new Prada bag, yet they crave what you have around your table - LOVED ONES! There is so much more value in a memory than a pair of new shoes, you’re not rich until you have something money cannot buy. We all have bags in the back of our wardrobes that were once on our goal list that we cringe at the thought of wearing in public now .. You never look back on special times and feel that way, in fact, the total opposite - it brings a smile, warmth and happiness. Someone might get a Mercedes Benz but the person they wanted to experience it with is no longer present - having people still at your table is the greatest gift. To my younger generation, understand your parents will be trying their hardest. It can take 6 hours a day of working for them just to buy you one small stocking filler. They don’t buy you gifts with money, they buy them with hours from their lives- let’s be super grateful. Believe me they will be making sacrifices to make your day as special as possible. You may not have got the latest gadget you wanted but it was either buying you that or not being able to keep you warm this winter or not being able to fill the fridge with all of your favourite Christmas snacks. Parents please understand, you’re not a bad mum/dad because you simply can’t do the impossible, shower them in love, gift them with laughter and make this year the best one yet! At the end of the day memories are all that matter. Money fades, materialistic things go out of trend BUT memories will live on forever.
