Things must change. This came to be because Black people are being murdered for being Black and the world has (hopefully) reached a breaking point. The prison, education, healthcare, welfare, comedy etc etc etc systems were not built for Black people. UCB was not built for Black people. Yet despite everything, they continued to outshine us. Amidst a global pandemic disproportionately killing Black people, the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd and Breonna Taylor, of Black Trans women Dominique Fells and Riah Milton, of Tony McDade, Rayshard Brooks and Robert Fuller and Toyin Salau, and so many more, they came together to organize for a new UCB. Take everything apart and hand it over to Black leaders. We are not worthy of their time, energy and talents, yet they continue to fight for liberation that will free us all.
