I had the opportunity to go on a mini sabbatical where I really got unplugged from the world I know. These past couple years I’ve been intentional about being present in my experiences. It actually felt good not having service lol.
Traveling to Africa for the first time and being in Senegal reminded me how big the world is again. It made me reprioritize having a global perspective. Senegal is a peninsula like Florida so the island vibes made it feel familiar.
Change has been rapid and I’m learning how to slow down. Sometimes it’s so easy to get caught up in the discomforts of the world and this trip offered me peace on my intentional healing journey.
Gratitude has been a common theme.
I experienced servant leadership, acts of kindness, communal love and witnessed what it looks like when everyone values life and family. I only saw one homeless person during my entire experience because within their culture everyone shares.
Mamadou our help mate turned friend showed me how God will take care of me no matter where I travel in this world. I came back with a renewed mind. Life is so beautiful. God is filling voids so we can all spread love. Swipe 🌹
Featured locations:
Lac Rose (Pink Lake)- A beautiful natural pink lake based off the salt and wind with healing properties. I got in the water and floated by myself for the first time.
Escale d'Orient Spa- Senegalese owned spa where I received my first hot stone massage. I started getting massages more frequently a couple months ago but this one put me to sleep.
