I’m figuring out a new process that would allow me to extract vertex connectors for my future light art installations. This is an idea that I have been wanting to develop since 2016 back when we were working on the “Geode” project with @maxwellcarlson and @machine_aura - I have been able to successfully extract the joint angles and create parametric models to allow for 3D custom manufacturing. I got my first 3D print as a proof of concept, but there is a lot I sill need to investigate to make this process more automated. I think I’m getting really close to extract vertices from the more organic polygonal models and to use the angles to generate parts. Any advice on how to link blender to a surface model software? Currently, I am using onShape.
