It’s your job to take care of this precious creature and keep them safe. Ever heard of squirrels, lizards, birds, cats, other dogs, cars backfiring? It’s an ANIMAL. No matter how well trained you THINK it is, there is always the possibility of something unexpected happening. This is NOT up for debate. This is NOT open for discussion. DO IT. Be SAFE! (And obviously a completely enclosed dog park or similar space is a different situation) Also, a dog can do something one way for its entire life and then suddenly surprise you. And it will be the WORST day of your life.
