Meet Karl!⁠ ⁠ That's right, the one and only Karl Strauss, whose name adorns one of San Diego's oldest breweries. ⁠ ⁠ Karl started at Pabst on May 11, 1939, and worked there for 44 years.⁠ ⁠ In 1986, his cousin Chris approached him to help start a San Diego microbrewery. Karl loved the idea and helped design the brewery, training the brewers and creating recipes for the first beers.⁠ ⁠ He was so passionate about the project that he even lent his name, face, and voice to the enterprise.
