One of my favorite books this summer: my friend’s Selma Blair’s memoir. I knew her as an actress with an amazing sense of fashion and style, as an ardent activist, and then I got to know her - through Instagram - as a friend. And this is when it became obvious to me that she also had a talent with words- her friendly text were often times poetry. I had high expectations for this book. And still, it blew me away. Her introspection and unflinching honesty and generosity of spirit were equally matched in the flow of her prose. Selma may have been a mean baby- but she’s turned into a beautiful actress, stylish model, fierce activist, and my kind and funny friend is also an amazing writer. I love this book so much.
