Lordy, lordy @kexp is 50! Sub Pop loves KEXP and we don't care who knows it. Here are just a few of the reasons why... They were the first station to give radio play to so many of our artists, from Nirvana to Flock of Dimes, and they are a crucial part of both our local and global music ecosystem. They're forever trying new things - including the time in 2018 when, to celebrate Sub Pop's 30th anniversary, they were ambitious, indulgent and (in retrospect, we can only imagine...) insane enough to play something from every release in our entire catalog, from SP001 to SP1268 (https://www.kexp.org/subpop/). We are STILL just totally blown away by that, guys! In its 50 years, KEXP has helped to define Seattle to the world, and make it a better place for all of us who live here.. They are truly friends and family (since a handful of us are current and/or former DJs - including our BOSS Jonathan Poneman). They celebrate the good stuff, help us with the hard stuff and they're even willing to help do laundry for bands on the road.
