Its #DisabilityPrideMonth and we’re changing out the Disability Pride flags at HQ! Did you know there’s an update from the 2019 original design, created by Ann Magill? The updated flag includes: diagonal lines to showcase cutting across barriers, and the colors have different luminosity to help people with color blindness. - Green represents sensory disabilities - Blue represents emotional and physical disabilities - White stands for non-visible and undiagnosed disabilities - Gold is for neurodiversity - Red represents physical disabilities. The stripes are diplayed on a faded greyscale background to commorate and mourn people with disabilities who have died due to ableism, violence, suicide, rebellion, illness and eugenics. The dark background also represents rage and protest against the mistreatment of the disability community. Join us in celebrating this month with PRIDE and SUPPORT. Thanks to @flagsforgood for making this a priority on your website. Video Description: Marnie stands in front of HQ, changing out the disability pride flag outside our office. The video is sped up 3x. When done changing the flag she gives a peace sign to the camera. The cover image is our HQ with the new flag in place.
