For ODDA 23, the editorial titled "LIKE SEX, PAPER SELLS AND IS STILL RELEVANT," is a celebration of how bookstores and newsstands keep the power of magazines, books, and fanzines alive in 2022. ODDA spoke with some of the most interesting bookstores from all over the world to better understand the point of view of professionals who deal with these means of communication everyday and can perfectly understand the passion and prefer ences of their customers, based on their daily choices. For the first subject, we spoke to Creative Director and Editor in Chief @taeilpark of @bellboymagazine. ODDA sits down with him to discuss the relevance of the print and digital mediums, their popularities, advantages, and prospects, taking as a starting point Park’s expertise in the editorial field, thanks to his experience working at GQ Korea. He tells us, "As a personal goal I would like to build something like print that has a longer lifespan than digital in essence and create [something like that] for the digital space." We also spoke with #AnnekeReijnders, who oversees the magazine section with Marc, Maartje, Noortje, and Martin, talks about how each title in @athenaeumnieuwscentrum is handpicked by someone in the staff and why she wants to focus on the importance of staying independent. She tells us, "Although the bookstore and the newsstand are two separate entities, the principle is the same: we curate our own sections."
