Her Face. — “This is last time we’ll see a monarch in a bright pink suit” - Random British passerby As my final post on The few days leading up to The Queen’s funeral comes to an end I’m left with the memories, photos, and anecdotes, including the quote above. Growing up as an Australian I always knew the history of the Queen, the monarchy, and the commonwealth. I grew up with the stories from my parents and family of what it meant, what happened (how australia came to be), and the first hand reactions to the events that occurred, most notably Princess Di. While I have many takeaways from the trip the common thread was the word used to describe The Queen. Whether they were British or foreign, royalist or republican, old or young, the word used most was Respect. People had respect for her, for the job, and most importantly for the length of time in which she did it.
