I never forget why I started this journey, but sometimes I need reminded of why I keep going, and performing at this incredible event Saturday was one of those moments for me. First and foremost, I want to give a shout out to @davidalanstyle for giving me the opportunity to be part of the fashion show and perform. I’m blessed to meet such great people and be a part of amazing things bigger than myself. Where I stand today is a testimony to my faith, resilience, and love for music. I wake up content, but with a burning deep down that I “ still got something to prove”, and that flame is reignited every time I touch the mic. The opportunities that have come throughout my sobriety over the past six months have been refreshing and special. Anyone who has followed my journey over the years knows the man you saw on TV is far from the man you see in front of you today. Every NO I’ve heard over the years was just another obstacle I had to overcome, but I don’t mind being the underdog! Today I walk confidence and the freedom I’ve gained from letting go of the past, releasing my demons, and accepting what is for me. I have some huge things lined up in these next coming months, and I’m gonna stay quiet and let them speak for themselves, but I am preparing to drop a new album for all my Dreamers! I’ve been through some dark times, and I’m far from perfect, but I will continue to seek the light, and that alone is enough to keep me going. I have some of the best supporters in the world, online and in real life, and I wouldn’t be where I’m at today or who I am today without y’all. Please believe it is never to late to chase your dreams, and you can’t fail if you never give up, no matter who you are or what challenges life throws at you. God Bless, DC
