I am so emotional that after many years, I am coming back to Prishtina to show my work. Not alone but with a gang of fabulous makers we will present LYNX for the official opening of @manifestabiennial in my hometown. Today we did the finishing touches of the sculptures with @autostradahangar that made dreams a reality and I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart for this collab. These sculptures will hold the newly invented instruments, a collaboration with @abo_electronics and @mihalisshammas. The lynxstruments are inspired by the Balkan Lynx, one of Europe’s last wild animals facing extinction. The piece speaks about borders that are designed to restrict us and take our freedom but also celebrates individuals and communities that despite all the limitations manage to preserve and survive, just like the balkan lynx. What made this whole journey so touching and personal is that we will be performing at ‘Salla e Kuqe’ a space in which I performed with my sister @blertaisml as children. While I write this my hands are shaking, this whole journey is a full circle but I cant wait to share this dream with you!
