@paakai97 The islands are alive and have memory, just as we do. The eruptions of Mauna Loa happened on the day we celebrate Hawaiian Independence, Lā Kū’oko’a. The island is reminding us of who we are, by turning to our thoughts to the history that has made us.
@prideofgypsies and I were asked many times if we thought the eruptions were a good or bad omen for our first day of film production here on Hawaii Island. With fire from Mauna Loa, snow over Mauna Kea and a cleansing rain that swept through our set today, we believe the omens are more than good, they are amazing! We hope this project will spark many more like it, so that we as Hawaiians will always remember who we are, and turn our thoughts to the history that has made us. Mahalo Tutu Pele for reminding us who we are. #chiefofwar
