On this #ForestFriday, we’re shining the light on the @onetreeplanted Honduras project. Since 1990, about 45% of the natural forests in Honduras have disappeared. Honduras still features biodiversity hotspots, providing homes for macaws, jaguars, and giant iguanas. But within the forestlands of Nombre de Dios, deforestation has threatened these thriving hotspots. Through the Honduras Reforestation Project, Rainforest Alliance and One Tree Planted are working to restore the degraded land in two regions of the country by planting 500,000 trees of varying native species!
