designing a rug with @alexandrabottenberg was not only the coolest experience but it was so fascinating. I had come across Alex’s work on IG & loved it and so the idea of working with someone who had mastered their craft & who created truly fun & timeless pieces made so much sense to me. We jumped on zoom calls, sent A LOT of photos to each other, a lot of pantone references, a couple of last minute hand drawn abstract motif changes and then the process of making the rug began. I learnt about the weights behind the thread & how much we would need and how colours would complement each other based on the varying thickness e.g if you look closely you’ll see the black is slightly lower than the other colours to give it an embossed feel & the red shapes are slightly more raised than everything else so that your eyes are immediately drawn to them.
