This year, the incubator is thematically oriented towards the topic of reproductive justice. Artists of all disciplines (visual arts, performance, theater, writing, dance, etc.) who are interested in this topic are invited to apply. GRANT OPPORTUNITY | Newark Artist Accelerator ✨ The 2022 Newark Artist Accelerator is a project grant for Newark-based, multidisciplinary visual artists. Project-based grants will be awarded up to $7,500. Proposed projects must be artist-led, and can include collaborative ventures, pop-up exhibitions, events, and interventions of an ephemeral nature that are radically accessible to public audiences. PUBLIC ART OPEN CALL | Asphalt Art Grant ✨ The City of Newark’s Division of Arts and Cultural Affairs @cityofnewarknj and PES have been awarded the Asphalt Art Grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies @bloombergdotorg. Newark is 1 of 26 U.S. cities from across the country to be selected for this new round of grants for projects designed to enhance safety for pedestrians and cyclists, improve public spaces, and install murals at intersections and crosswalks. The grant will support the development and installation of a mounted public art project at the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and the Interstate 280 off-ramp in Newark. ✨ #artistopportunity #artistopportunities
